Bulls Head 11th Treasure Hunt 2022 done and dusted!

What a great day once again. Mild, dry weather, ten competitive teams, with both familiar faces and and new ones too. Thank you to everyone who took part. We all hope you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves.

The ten teams competed very well for the title of Bulls Head Treasure Hunt Champions! Everyone enjoyed the drive out for 50 clues and tried their best to answer some tough tie breaker quiz questions.

This is, of course, the time when the 3p Car Club and the Goodfellows Car Club, both go ‘head to head’ to be treasure Hunt champions depending on which car gets first place!

In third place, winning a £20 Gift Card for the Bulls Head was Smokey and His Bandit!. In second place were last year’s runners up…….‘veteran’ Treasure Hunters and twice previous champions, the Scooby Doo’s! They are consistent for sure, finishing in the top three in the last three years! They drove off with a £40 gift card. Well done to both.

The winners and 2022 11th anniversary Champions were the ‘Two H’s’ in their Skoda! A massive well done to the dynamic duo Sue and Elaine who have won a Porsche for the day, kindly supplied by our sponsors Porsche Chester.

Pub Plates were served up by Head Chef Andy, with our compliments, as a reward to the competing team’s endeavours and we raised a total of £100 for Action against Hunger and Hospitality Action.

Since the very first Bully Treasure Hunt, way back in 2011, the hunt has always been about the rivalry between the 3P (Porsche Pub and Pint) Club and the Good Fellows Car Club and this year the trophy went back to the Good Fellows thanks to The Two H’s coming first on the day.

Thank you to everyone who took part, it was great fun seeing everyone and we look forward to seeing you all in 2023.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Kat from Porsche Chester for putting up the most marvellous prize for the Treasure Hunt. I am sure the winning team will love it.

See you next year!

Bulls Head 10th Anniversary Treasure Hunt!

What a great day it was! Mild, dry weather, eleven competitive teams and a great pub atmosphere to enjoy, while the ‘marking’ was done by owner Tim!

Thank you to all the teams who turned up and competed so well for the title of Bulls Head Treasure Hunt Champions! Everyone enjoyed the drive out for 50 clues and tried their best to answer some tough tie breaker quiz questions.

This is, of course, the time when the 3p Car Club and the Goodfellows Car Club, both go ‘head to head’ to be treasure Hunt champions!

So how did it unfold?? The ‘wooden spoon’ was shared between, last time’s runners up, Murphy’s Law, in their Porsche 911 and owner Tim’s, daughter’s Tesla team, the ‘Super Chargers’. Clearly no favours done by dad on the day! These teams were only 14 points behind the eventual winners, proving just how close things were.

In third place, winning a £20 Gift Card for the Bulls Head were the ‘Black Cats’ in their Jaguar. In second place were ‘veteran’ Treasure Hunters and twice previous champions, the Scooby Doo’s! They are consistent for sure, finishing third last time out too! They drove off with a £30 gift card.

The winners and 2021 10th anniversary Champions are the Godfathers in their Porsche! A massive well done to Team Godfathers who have won a Porsche for the day and also picked up a Porsche Mug each to celebrate their triumph!

Pub Plates were served up by Head Chef Andy, with our compliments, as a reward to the competing team’s endeavours and we raised a total of £70 for the Mobberley Parish Church too. Thanks to all the competing teams for their kind donations.

The 30 best winter pubs in Britain, for dog-lovers, walkers, foodies and more…..

Saturday 16th November 2019

The Bull’s Head, Mobberley, Cheshire

You feel the warmth as soon as you walk through the door of this pretty village pub. Candles glow on the tables, fires crackle, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. It holds a dog show every August and even has doggy beer behind the bar. Under a low-beamed ceiling, seven hand pumps dispense the finest local ales, including Bull’s Head Bitter and the inimitable Mobberley Wobbly.

Halloween Party at the Bully best yet!

It was another spooky night at the Bulls Head Halloween party! Steph dressed the pub to an award winning standard! People were phoning in the ask if they could bring the family down to see the pub dressed out to its horrible best! Steph was up half the night getting everything ready for our scary Saturday night party. House band Dave and Howard rocked up to play Halloween hits and many regulars turned up dressed beyond recognition! Dave and Pete our regular fancy dress kings decided to make the most of the foggy night and came as ‘Del and Rodney’ dressed as Batman and Robin at the wrong party! (I am sure everyone remembers that episode of ‘Only Fools and Horses?’) The winner was a rather sinister red haired clown, but a great effort was made by so many that we awarded the best ten, who all got a bottle of wine with the first prize of a £50 gift card and wine going to the Clown! Thank you to Steph once again for the amazing effort she made decking the pub so well. Thanks too, to the Bully team who all dressed up and looked amazing! But the biggest thanks is to all our customers that made such a great effort.

Here’s to next year when Halloween is actually on the Saturday next year!! See you here!
