Our Pie Week success and now celebrate… British Food Fortnight!!!

Pie week went down extremely well with all our customers and thank you for visiting us.

The favourite pies of the week where 200+ pies were served as main courses were….

Our now legendary Steak and Ale pie still at number one!!!

Followed swiftly by our unique ‘chunky lamb’ shepherds pie, Ham leek and cider pie, our game pie and finally Haddock, smoked mackerel and salmon pie made up the top four best sellers although all pies were appreciated especially our vegetarian pies!!

All our pies are homemade in our kitchen by Lloyd and the team and have been handcrafted with pride.

Watch out for our next pie week from Monday 7th March to Monday 14th March inclusive in recognition of British pie week….a national celebration of a great British favourite.

Our ales that sold quickest during the week were Mobberley Wobbly Ale , Bulls Head Bitter, Tattons Indian Summer Ale and the Dunham Massey ‘Green hop’ beer. Well done to all the ladies who sampled the ale with their favourite pie we are certainly converting the girls!!!

British food fortnight kicked off on Sunday 18th September and there is no better place to celebrate great British dishes than the Bulls Head…………

our haddock, battered in our homemade special recipe Cheshire ale batter with chips, ‘not so’ mushy peas and homemade Tartare Sauce has already sold well over a thousand portions since we opened at the end of May 2010.

As mentioned above our steak and ale pie made with our own Mobberley Wobbly Ale is already deservedly getting acclaim from far and wide.

Our sausage and mash made with Frank’s Cheshire Smokehouse ‘grandad’ sausages with homemade onion gravy and fresh red cabbage and mashed Cheshire potatoes…..

Mouth watering??? Come in and celebrate the best of British at the Bulls Head.

We are about to reach two new records…………. the 1000th pie to be served at the Bulls Head and the 1000th steak meal to be served, both are following ‘fast on the heals’ of the already celebrated serving of our 1000th fish and chips……we have calculated that both these landmarks will be surpassed appropriately in the last week of British food week commencing Sunday 26th September 2010.

So you could be the lucky diner that wins their meal free if you are served the 1000th dish.

We look forward to seeing you as always…………
